Why The Rich Are Getting Richer and the Poor, Poorer
Just like anyone in the world, companies try to find the cheapest way to get things done. With that said, these companies are doing anything to save money. In doing so they are cutting back some workers for others that would work the same amount of time for less money. Not only are humans replacing each others jobs but there are also machines being built that also cover and take over some of the workers jobs. These jobs are usually ones that anyone can do and don’t need a high education. There are always people willing to perform these tasks. But the question is are there always going to be jobs such as these for people to work? With today’s technology the answer will pretty soon be not likely would there be much job offerings as such. That is why most of today’s generation of adults are pursuing a higher degree that would guarantee them a job and higher pay. So, the poor uneducated people will keep getting poorer because the jobs they can pursue either don’t pay much, or employment in such areas is not found. While for the educated rich people they will always keep making more money and get richer with time. This reading relates a lot with today’s world. The higher the degree you have, the more money you will make. Our future with our current economy doesn’t look too good, and it looks like Michigan’s unemployed workers could relate to what Reich said about the routine producers, being that we have the so called “Motor City”.
